FAQ
Crew housing questions
What is crew housing?
Crew housing is furnished, short-term accommodation for people who work on yachts and in boatyards. At Vitamin Sea you can rent a single bed, an entire unit or a whole house, billed by the week.
How is Vitamin Sea different from an Airbnb?
Our houses are set up for people who work in the marine industry. You can rent a single bed instead of a whole home, stays are billed weekly with no minimum or maximum, and you deal with us directly by phone, text or WhatsApp.
Who can stay?
Yacht crew, yard day workers, marine contractors and maritime students.
What is included?
Every house has fully furnished layouts, high-speed wi-fi for remote work, full kitchen and cookware, washer and dryer in unit, secure entry and parking, private or shared bedrooms and crew-friendly bedding setups.
Which house should I choose?
The Gulch is a triplex with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, so you can take a bed, one whole unit, or the building. Light House is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house with a bunk room, a laundry room and a fenced backyard. Each house has its own page with photos.
Do you house maritime students?
Yes. Maritime students are welcome, alongside yacht crew, yard day workers and marine contractors. Stays are billed by the week with no minimum, which suits a course that runs for a week or two.
Is there parking, and can I do laundry?
Yes to both. Every house has secure entry and parking, and a washer and dryer in the unit.
How far is Lauderdale Marine Center?
Every house is a few minutes from Lauderdale Marine Center, and close to the other yards along Marina Mile and the New River.
